Ok thanks . I'm downloading them Now , and maybe uninstall nmm . I don't know for sure .

is there any reason to use this?

It's my understanding that eventually Nmm is going away .

I have a question what is Vortex and also all my mods seemed to have stopped working with NMM can't seem to get any of them to work.

so it's basically the way the login and nmm communicated with the site that is against some government rules?

well i updated to the latest .65whatever, hopefully that will be the end of it.

oh yeah, thanks for the heads up :)

It's a replacement for NMM and MO (since I believe MO's dev joined the Nexus team). Here: https://www.nexusmods.com/site/mods/1

you will see a huge reduction of mod size while using vortex.

this is because nmm basically creates 3 copies of your mod (mod archive, virtualinstall, mod installed into your Fallout 4/Data/), while vortex creates two (mod archive, virtual installation).

it's much more stable than nmm in terms of installation. but it doesn't come with features which i expect vortex to contain such as freedom of sorting load order.

Yep. Tannin was just recently quite clear about this matter. They do not intend to include official support for manually sorting the load order.

It does not mean that someone couldn't craft a plugin for Vortex, which allows free storing. Official releases just will not be including or directly supporting the feature.

I am personally sticking with Mod Organizer 2.

Honestly you should switch to Mod Organizer 2. It's still being actively developed and the latest version works very well for me. It looks complicated but it really isn't and it's literally the best Mod Manager for Bethesda games I've ever used.

I just downloaded Vortex. It is just too simple and too few features to me use. Load order is one biggest problem.....

Hopeing some one can clarify . I have my mods downloaded to vortex , would it be safe to install them then delete my Nmm ?

Yes.

I was in the closed alpha for Vortex. It is best that you delete NMM entirely. Vortex uses very different type of method for mods.

If you want to keep NMM around, then at least make sure that all mods are disabled from it.

Every software that needs default Intall location to work (AutoUpdates in this case) is big no no me. I install many programs to Harddisk and OS, Fallout4/Skyrim SE + Virtual install to SSD....
